You’re invited to join the YWCA Greater Harrisburg for a special Black History Month Reception! This will be a unique opportunity to learn about Black History in Harrisburg and the YWCA’s role in that – and to get the first glimpse of our brand-new Race Against Racism route, which connects the YWCA’s mission with the city’s history. For more info & tickets (event is free, but rsvp requested): https://www.facebook.com/events/816083505181534/

We are very pleased to have Mr. Calobe Jackson, who will speak from both his historical expertise and personal experience about the significant events that have taken place for Black History in Harrisburg.

The YWCA has played a key role in that history throughout our 122 years of being rooted in and serving this community – which will also be showcased in a special exhibit of photos, newspaper clippings and documents from the YWCA’s archives at the reception.

We are very excited to forge a deeper connection between our mission of eliminating racism and the history of our city at the Race Against Racism this year. At the reception, we will unveil our brand-new race route – and Calobe Jackson will speak to the historical significance of the locations that were chosen.

We hope you will join us to learn about Black History in Harrisburg, the YWCA’s role and what you can look forward to for this year’s Race!

This event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be provided.
