Vote No on HB2050!

A few weeks ago, Planned Parenthood reported about Kathy Rapp taking the helm of the House Health Committee. Rapp is an extreme anti-women’s health politician who has made it her mission to deprive women of access to safe, legal abortion.

Today, she struck her first blow as Chairman.

This afternoon, the Health Committee passed HB2050, an unconstitutional bill that would ban abortions if the family receives a fetal diagnosis of Down Syndrome.

We all can do more to fight for individuals with disabilities and their families, but you can be sure this bill is not about advancing disability rights or about fighting discrimination–it is a page right out of the playbook to take away access to safe, legal abortion.

Today, we ask you to do two things:

1. Read the perspective of a parent of a child with Down Syndrome who is opposed to this bill. Michael understands that every situation is different and that forcing women down a certain path does not make the world any better for individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.

2. Call your State Representative today and tell them to oppose this cruel and hypocritical measure. Politicizing individuals with Down Syndrome and their families for political gains is shameful and unacceptable.
