Dr. Sophie Andar is Director of Operations and Programs at Culture Reframed. A commitment to social justice and well-being has led Dr. Andar to initiate, develop, and facilitate youth and community development, violence prevention, and health promotion efforts in grassroots, non-profit, university, and city and state government settings over the past ten years. Diverse roles at the New Mexico Office of the State Historian, the Columbia Center for Youth Violence Prevention, and the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW) have deepened her appreciation for multilevel, multisector collaborative mobilization toward sexual violence prevention. As a fellow for the Teachers College, Columbia University Research Group on Disparities in Health, Dr. Andar recently conducted the first study to examine the role of digital media, including pornography, in college sexual assault.
