Pennsylvania NOW has always underscored that reproductive freedom is a human right.

Reproductive health care is a human right.

Abortion IS healthcare.

It is important to note while the leaked draft opinion that suggests the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade, the procedure was still legal — but under serious threat. We must fight till reproductive freedom truly is for *every* body with no exceptions! Making abortion illegal will affect those with the least resources; those who will not have the ability to travel to where abortion is legal.

The 2022 elections have taken on even more significant relevance. We must elect representatives who have demonstrated their unequivocal support for reproductive freedom in both words and deeds. The Women’s Health Protection Act has passed the House of Representatives and the Senate must vote to pass it immediately to codify the protections in Roe v. Wade.

We are heartened that Governor Wolf has reiterated that abortion is and will remain legal in Pennsylvania and that he would veto any “anti-choice” legislation that lands on his desk. It becomes imperative to elect a Governor who will wield that same veto pen to protect our Reproductive freedom.
